Link building tips are pretty frequent on the internet. Whether it's to get natural link building from your posts through social media or to invest in a link building software tool, there are literally millions of posts on this topic. But what can you believe?

One minute somebody is telling you that link building isn't even necessary and the next they are telling you that you need high PR links from all authority sites. It's a mixed bag of controversial articles and everything is hard to decipher.

Because of this, I decided to put together a few link building tips that nobody is going to tell you and how you can apply them to your campaigns. Getting ranked is not that hard, even for a highly competitive niche, but it is a lot of work and you will need to use link building to establish your authority. How can you do this? Through our tips!

Link Building Tips #1 - Use Original Content On Tier 1

The first thing that you want to do is get original content for your first tier. Original content is very easy to get. Either write yourself or get somebody on Fiverr to do it for you. If you don't want to spend a lot of money, you can also offer guest blogging on your site. Now, Matt Cutts has already said that this is risky, but you can avoid this by vetting the competition and running a backlink profile on the website they want to link from.

Link Building Tips #2 - Build Links On High PR PAGES Not High PR Domains

There is a huge difference between a high PR domain and a high PR page. Don't believe me? Do a little digging. Run a PR audit on a page within a high PR domain and you will find out for yourself. You can use SEOQuake to find high PR pages and blog posts to build your links on. This can include comments or you can ask for a link within the post's content from the webmaster in exchange for a link from your site. Pretty easy method and works great.

Link Building Tips #3 - Don't Link Wheel Too Soon

Link wheels can be very effective but you don't want to do it on your first tier. Save it for the later tiers. We actually already discussed this on our Do Link Wheels Still Work Post. You can check that out for more information on link wheels. We recommend doing this on tiers 3 or 4 for best results. If you don't feel comfortable doing this at all, you don't have to use it, but when you do it right, it's extremely effective. Try to stay away from link building tips that tell you otherwise.
